Great place to go. I was lucky enough to go with a local family. I was able to see the real jungle life. Had fresh fish and fruit. Be sure to bring bug repellent!!!

The biggest of all the reserves in Peru, a truly beautiful part of the world, I went on a fishing trip and jungle tour from a small village on the río Ucayali through guest house "La Casa Del Otorongo" in Gennera Herrera. Very remote and unspoilt jungle it was perfect for me.

An extraordinary place in our world that I hope is sustainable. A bounty of insects, heat, noise & humidity. Get in shape before going. The more Spanish you speak, the better. The indigenous folks are so wise!

This is a beautiful and fascinating part of the world, especially if you enjoy birds. It is worth visiting not only for the natural wonders and incredibly diverse wildlife, but also for the people! The locals who live in the Amazon are an inspiration, and a reminder that a fulfilling life does not require much modern "stuff."
