With shamanic centers popping up all around Peru, there is understandably a concern about legitimacy and authenticity. Let me tell you, folks. This is the real deal. I took part in a retreat here after extensive research, and I was not disappointed. Paul is a highly trained shaman with a deep understanding of several diverse traditions, which he blends together artfully. Highly recommended.

What an incredible experience with the most genuine and caring individuals. I couldn't have dreamt of a better overall experience. The location is far away enough from town to feel quiet and off the grid but only a 15 minute walk ( or 1 minute tuk tuk) to access everything you might need. I felt safe, cared for and good energy was flowing freely. The retreat was extremely intimate and wasn't overcrowded like many other centers in the area. The food was healthy, flavorful and nourishing to my body. The accommodations were cozy with plenty of space to practice yoga, sit in the sun, read, or participate in any of the activities they have available (qi gong, kirtan, yoga). Hot water, wifi. The medicine was strong and caring, and showed me more gratitude than I have ever previously known. The staff were all genuine, helpful, and each individual brought a special element to my spiritual journey. Their attitudes towards the medicine and life in general were contagious and gave me something tangible to work towards. The kind of inner peace that Jenn, Dan and Paul exhibited was something incredible and at times I find it difficult to put into words, it's more of a feeling....a feeling of compassion, love, kindness and gratitude. At times I admittedly found myself asking Paul open ended questions just so I could hear what he had to say about a particular topic. Tantraya is a place of healing...spiritual, physical, emotional and otherwise. If you hear the calling, there is no better option. Can't wait to go back again in the near future! Xoxo
I completed the 8 day retreat which took place over the Christmas period. I will write here what I have been saying to everyone that I have spoken to about it...'It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life'. I felt safe and supported throughout the 8 days. All the activities during the retreat complimented each other in a very effective way. The food was perfect, so nutritious, exciting and quite obviously made with care and attention. The center was calm and homely. I will be returning next year no doubt.
I joined a beautifully held Ayahuasca ceremony at Tantraya in October. It felt very safe, guided and personal. I can definitely recommend it to everyone who hears the call to work with the medicine, also to those drinking for the first time!
I loved every minute of my Tantraya experience! The retreat family is very kind, caring, and accommodating! Paul is very knowledgeable shaman that takes time to answer any questions and concerns & guide everyone through ayahuasca experience seamlessly. I felt loved and protected while being there every moment. Also, Tantraya keeps participants group small which makes the whole experience so much better. Thank you Tantraya family for all your kindness and love!!
It was a beautiful experience. Paul and all the staff were really professional and careful. The mantras, meditation, icaros and the brew were so helpful for me. I felt so much love and compassion during the ceremony. Gratidão !
