The Subnational PFM Program of the Swiss Cooperation - SECO seeks to improve Public Finance Management (PFM) in the eleven (11) Subnational Governments (SNG) where it intervenes, by strengthening the capacities of SNGs to efficiently comply , effectively and transparently with its growing obligations in the management of public resources, under the ongoing decentralization process. To achieve this objective, the Subnational PFM Program provides applied technical assistance and supports the development of specific capacities of key officials of the SNG beneficiaries of the Program. Specifically, the Program promotes the strengthening, implementation and institutionalization of adequate systems for PFM. With this, the aim is to contribute to the mandate of the SNGs, to guarantee the provision of quality public services for the benefit of society and to prevent the misappropriation of public resources.
