4day classic Inca Trek was amazing. Small group, amazing food (thanks to the chef Wilson), knowledgeable guide (Jose) and the porters (Moresto's team) worked unbelievably hard. The tent, sleeping bags and mats were all top quality too. It is worth the extra money to go with Wayki to support a local company that cares for the porters! Also take advantage of the included wayki experience to get an insight into the porter village, Jamie took us and we loved it.

My husband and I were supposed to Hike the 2 day Inca Trail with a different company however we didn't have enough people in our group so we were transferred to Wakyi Trek. We met Victor at 5:30am the day of the hike and we knew it was going to be a great day. He was warm, enthusiastic and genuinely loved his job. We hiked with another couple and him. We felt like we got a private hike. We made the mistake of taking too much luggage and Victor offered to carry it some of the way to help my husband rest. He was extremely knowledgeable about the trail, the history and Incan language. His favorite phrases are "mi familia, mi amigos, oh wow--great question." When you could see the moral was falling he picked it right back up. He knew the best picturesque locations. We walked away with the best, most valuable experience of our entire honeymoon. I cannot say enough things about Victor. He is special.

Jose was our guide and he was truly excellent. Extremely knowledgeable on the whole trip from the inca ruins to the wild life. He was funny and a great person to have on the hike. He was very attentive and gave excellent details and instructions. Great guy and made the whole experience even better. The wayki company is well organised and completed everything perfectly. The porters are a great group and deserved a good tip at the end (we ended up giving about 60 sols per porter per person i think (jose helped us with this). The chef on the trail was outstanding...unbelievable food each night and always setup before we reached each campsite. The camp sites were great...the tents are really good that we rented...mointain hardware and north face. They even setup a toilet tent which was actually better than some of the permanent toilets at the camp sites. Recommended listening to the tour peoples suggested lists. Dont take crazy amounts of food though...1 or 2 bars a day is needed max. We looked at other companies while we were at camp sites and wayki trek was far superior. Thoroughly recommended.

Five of us did the 4-Day Lares Trek in early July, 2017. We had Luis as our guide and he was great! Lares is a challenging hike and Luis always knew what we needed in terms of rests, water, and other general information. Luis also did our tour of Machu Picchu on the fourth day. His enthusiasm for the history and culture were infectious, and left us with a better understanding and appreciation of Peru and its fascinating past. Thank You, Luis! The rest of the team was incredible as well. Our cook, Jaime, and his assistants prepared amazing (and appropriately caloric) meals for us, and even made meat-free options for our vegetarian. The food was seriously impressive. Everything was fresh, authentic and prepared in the safest way possible. At one point after an already large meal (even by American standards) Jaime rolled out a full-on cake, topped with icing and pineapples. We were baffled at how he even pulled it off but, of course, it was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend Wayki Trek. They took care of everything, which allowed us to just enjoy the experience. THANK YOU, GUYS!

I absolutely loved my trek with Wayki Trek. I did the 2 Day Lares 2 Days Inca Trail Trek and it was awesome. Luis was our exceptional guide and he took excellent care of us. He is very knowledgeable and also just a really nice human being! Wilson was our cook and he was fantastic. The food was unbelievable and we definitely did not go hungry!! The rest of the crew kept the whole show running smoothly and were really friendly and polite. I love the fact this company is locally owned and operated. I highly recommend Wakyi Trek if you want a trekking experience that you'll love and treasure forever.

Our guide Jose was absolutely the best. He was very tentative and looking out for our well-being. He took us off the beaten path so we avoided crowds at the campsite as well as our pit stops. The cooks and the other porters were super sweet and the food was delicious! We did the Salkantay trek which was awesome!
