Very difficult but rewarding trek. We hiked 4 days from just outside of Cuzco to Aguas Calientes and then up to Machu Picchu. We were rewarded with incredible sights: snowcapped mountains, icy mountain lakes, verdant valleys, rotting cow carcasses, beautiful jungles, and much more. Our group of hikers was friendly and diverse and we all got along well. I consider myself in pretty good shape and it was a trying hike. Absolutely worth it and cheaper than the Inca Trail.

A professional, friendly tour company located right in the centre of Cusco. Their reviews speak for themselves, so highly regarded by travellers looking for adventure. They offer the popular Machu Picchu 4 day trek as well as day trips around Peru. However, their selling point is really the Salkantay 6day trek for the real adventurous. No problems with this company and always happy to go back for the next adventure.

Salkantay trail was recommended to me by hotel staff where I was staying in Cusco. They were very helpful to me in recommending and organizing trips around Cusco , trip to Machu Picchu, trip to amazon region of Peru , which was not on my list , but was glad that they recommended that I fly there, and was lots of fun. I am person that does not make lots of plans when I travel, so I need to find good guide when I get to destination. I was very lucky to find Salkantay trail out of many agencies in Cusco. Highly recommended.

Was recommended by the tourist info in Cusco. I booked a rainbow mountain tour with them and got rided off and provided with all false information. This operator has no ethics at all. First of all, they changed 80 sol when others 55sol. Secondly, I was told it was quite flat, in fact, more than 470 metres elevation. Thirdly, they did not tell me to prepare anything at all for the high attitude and surrounding conditions. I only found out when we stopped at the breakfast place. It was 5200 metres above see level, windy cold and could be rainy, so need to prepx for attitude sickness pills, cap, gloves and scarf. I had nothing, so I get wet from head to toes, and suffer 4 hours bus back to cusco. Avoid this agent. When they want to do a business, they would tell you everything you want to hear even it is not right. They hide anything may stop you signing up, even it could put you at risk. They have zero ethics.

Very recommended. Erica is a professional organiser she made us feel like we were always looked after. She kept every promise and supplied first aid kit and brand new oxygen baloon for our Ausangate trail. Her guide, Mario, is awesome. And for better finish she organized 30 min. Massage for the whole group. Take them.

We did a half day tour through this agency, very bad experience. 1, merged us with other groups; 2. A big group more than 20ppl with 1 guide, he speaks English first then Spanish; 3, 2 un expected gift shops stops made the trip longer than it should be; 4 the guide Eric is very impatient, didn’t go with the group to visit the sites rather just explain at the gate then waited us on the bus.
