A sign of spanish barbarism and destruction of Incan civilization.

Small but important in history. The Inca Atahualpa was captured and put here.
I love Peru's history!
The "Cuarto del Rescate," or Ransom Room, has interesting historical significance and is neatly nestled between the newer buildings of Cajamarca. There is some signage and adequate preservation effort inside, but they could definitely benefit from adding a sign that gives some clearer historical context (there is not even one in Spanish right now, let alone English). Otherwise, for such a low entrance fee that also permits entrance into a few other sites in the surrounding blocks, the Ransom Room is definitely worth checking out for 5-10 minutes.
An astonishing lack of (background) information for such an important and historic place.
Check out the red line inside of room. Atahuarupa was a pretty tall man.
Guides are only in Spanish, pretty knowledgeable. Make sure you ask about the unofficial history too. Official one was written by Spanish.
Good to see. Could do with more commentary about the place.
