I had the opportunity to celebrate my birthday at Central, and it was a amazing experience. The ambience, the staff, the tasting experience....everything was amazing. We also had the opportunity to have the chef Virgílio twice at our table, explaining the dishes and the staff also prepared a small surprise for my birthday. It was really a pleasant experience. I’d recommend it.

I’m traveling for a year and don’t have an unlimited amount of money but food is the main reason I travel so I had to come here. This was easily and night forever be the best culinary experience of my life! This is my pilgrimage, Central is a temple, the food was my sacrament, and Virgilio is a saint. A truly spiritual experience.
This experiential meal was a flavorful adventure and a delightful tour of Peru. The presentation was meticulous and beautiful, served by a staff as friendly as they were professional. Would certainly recommend it to anyone traveling to Peru. My only complaint was with a woman who felt out of place, showing up in the middle of our meal in the open kitchen. Touching garnish, playing with her cell phone, disrupting the flow kitchen staff who were in their groove prior to her arrival. Not sure who she was but she certainly brought a negative energy to our dining experience, not to mention her lack of concern for sanitary standards, especially during this time of pandemic (she can be seen in orange in the last picture below).
Starts at sea level, tackling different altitudes until we are out of this world. What an experience. Flavours and textures I've never heard of, seen, or comprehended were introduced to me that day. One thing that is underrated is their non-alcoholic juice pairing. It is easily the best beverage pairing I've had, wine included. Again, interesting drinks and locally sourced. Phenomenal.
The comments remarking the experience is almost like going to museum aren't wrong - yet Central also presents an extremely visceral dining experience. Where else in the world will you eat piranha while the center piece on the table is a plate of frozen piranha heads? Central showcases Peru and the vast amount of ingredients beautifully.
It was a great experience. I had the 16 dish option along with a non-alcoholic pairing. I am not a big fan of alcohol so this was the best option for me. Great service. They were very attentive and everyone was extremely polite and helpful. The restaurant itself was gorgeous and open. I sat right next to the kitchen which has a glass wall so you're able to see everything that's going on inside. The food was excellent. All the dishes had a great presentation. The attention to detail is incredible.
A must go in Lima. The concept of an altitude menu is totally unique, and utterly phenomenal. Such a unique experience and gastronomic highlight All dishes explained thoroughly. Their history, the background, the ingredients, the connection to Peru. Really have an insight into the varied landscape of the country. The altitude concept is one in a billion. 9 courses felt like I’d been transported to all over Peru Didn’t feel stuffed but replete 100% go and see for yourself.
One of the most amazing culinary experiences in my life time. The Paring of ingredients is perfected with flavours you may not find anywhere else in the world. I knew from the first explosive bite of flavour from the juices in the razor clam this meal would be special. Recommend with the wine pairing! Also to note the service staff are incredibly friendly and offer the highest level of service.
