Very professional and courteous service. Frankly, I was a little nervous renting a car from this location after reading the reviews, but I took a chance and I was not disappointed. Being a visitor to Peru and not speaking Spanish well, they took the time to make sure I understood everything. Shop was very courteous and treated us fairly. Now, for driving in Lima, you need to have nerves of steel to survive. Good luck!

I rented a car here from 01/17/2019 to 01/29/2019. When I returned the car, they wanted me to pay for the old damage that was before my rental. And marks about these damages were made at the initial inspection of the car. To prove that the damage was old, I had to go to the main office. When this problem was solved and I signed the documents of the return of the car, the manager said that the guarantee on my credit card would be unfrozen within 48 hours. But that did not happen. I am still waiting my money return. They do not respond to letters and appeals from website. Never rent a car in Budget Car Rental in Lima.

I rented a car in Lima for second time in least than a year and everything works fine. The first time, I picked up the car in Barranco and dropped at airport and second time, picked up from airport and dropped it in Budget Barranco. No issues, fair price, and good service.

Horrible service/communication between company and 3rd party provider. Don’t be fooled by this company. I had a reservation 5 days here in Lima after coming back from Trujillo and stopped by a week before hand to make sure everything was okay with the reservation and what papers (if any) I needed to bring when I came to pick up the car. When I came to pick up I was informed of a 2,000sol(625) deposit that I had apparently been “emailed” about beforehand. Needless to say I had to rent an expensive taxi to get out the airport and now are carless for the next couple of days. Although I rented the car through Expedia, therefore they wouldn’t even cancel my reservation, when I stopped by the first time, this should’ve been brought to my attention so I could’ve made the correct arrangements to afford such a deposit on a 60 total car rental that I thought I had signed up for. Also the short haired guy in the nationals desk was completely inconsiderate and practically got in my face when I tried to explain my situation to see if there was anything else I could do to fix the situation. Should’ve listened to the reviews

Now I can see by all the reviews that this place is a notorious scam artist. Here is my story: I rented a car from Budget Peru for one day. On the way back to the airport, I was stopped by a traffic cop. (supposed illegal u-turn) I showed him all my documents including the budget papers which were all inside a plastic envelope. He gives me back all of the docs but of course, except the registration card which I didnt notice him taking when he was standing next to the car going through all the papers. When I got to rental return 10 minutes later, literally the first thing they check for is the reg card. Hmmmm how odd. Since it wasnt there they charged me 500 to replace the reg and "cover" the days the car couldn't be used. NOWHERE in the contract does it state how much you will he charged if you lose that paper. So they then charge me for 10 days for rental at a rate that was double of what I rented it for. Even though I found out from their version of DMV that the documents can be replaced in 3 days. They insist its 10 days and all the extra fees are for "administrative" reasons. You mean everyone involved gets their cut? Worst experience with a rental car company ever. Even worse than budget in the U.S. BEWARE

Also they have trouble with time and math and in the end it's the customer who will have to pay for their issues. It was a team effort so I blame the whole shop. Won't rent from budget again

Very high prices!! I recommend to read and put a lot of attention to the contract. It can be cheaper take a flight than rent a car.
