The most pleasant surprise in Arequipa. Large and very beautiful monastery. It has several streets and many buildings. You will remember it for distinctive red colour and many interesting details, e.g. unusual washing cascade. Very interesting place. You can spend here the whole day and enjoy it.8

Huge historic place to learn about the life of nuns and novices in Arequipa. It has a lot of years of history. You have to pay to enter but the payment for a guide is optional, I highly recommend taking the guide because she/he can tell you everything about the Monastery, the history is fascinating. The guided tour takes one hour, don't forget to turn off your camera's flash when taking photos, you can damage the paintings.

Super beautiful and massive historical spot. Spent a couple hours here but could have stayed all day! Lots to learn and lots of great photo ops.

I attended on my own and just loved walking around and seeing the beauty. Beautiful place for photos

A hidden gem. I highly recommend setting aside half a day to leisurely wander this rather large complex.

This is a beautiful monastery. Although the price is high (40 soles for foreigners), it is well worth it. The history is interesting (and depending on how you look at it either sad or impressive) about the cloister nuns. The monastery was closed to the public for over 350 years until 1970. In any case, unlike many museums in Peru, this one is well worth the price. Go see it!

We weren't planning to go in here, but after multiple recommendations we went in one afternoon. It was fantastic! The place itself is beautiful, with beautifully vivid colours and winding walkways. Would highly recommend, but make sure to bring a bottle of water with you!

We spent a good hour here with the kids. It's a time machine showing life in a monastery as well as architecture through the ages. We chose to go without a guide, there's enough information posted with the various rooms, kitchens and cloisters. Some 20 nuns still live here, in a part of the monastery you do not get to visit.
