I’m a serious photographer who shoots macro and specializes in insects, amphibians and reptiles. Amazon Experience met me at the airport in Iquitos, got me by boat to a small camp a couple of hours from the city, provided a great guide and got me back again. I really recommend these guys wholeheartedly. The camp they put me into was basic, small and perfect for me -- exactly what you would expect in the Amazon. There was a few other people staying there — a mix of backpackers and people like me who are bit older, a couple of birders and a family with a couple of kids. Really nice people! The camp had good wholesome local food, friendly staff, electricity to charge batteries for a few hours, showers and a ton of wildlife. Most people went off on tours during the day so it was quiet. I photographed at night and found some great species so I was very happy. Amazon Experience’s prices are extremely reasonable and you really get value for money. They are also genuinely concerned about things that are important to me: protecting the forest, helping local people and responsible tourism being three. It was so good I booked a second trip! Had a great experience during the 2D/1N Amazon lodge tour. Our guide Augusto was great at explaining each and every detail and was very knowledgeable. The only downside is power is only availability from 6-9pm and there are no fans or anything for air circulation and if you sweat profusely I'd recommend getting some battery powered fans. Augusto was very kind to make me a hand fan with palm leaves. Would definitely recommend this tour company. Forgot to mention even the food was delicious!!!
I don't even know where to start! This was by far one of the best tours I've ever gone on. Our guide René was knowledgeable, funny, and very accommodating. I took the 3-day package which was amazing value for the money. I was skeptical at first when other tourists told me the food would be really good, but they were right: a local cook accompanied us and made us great local dishes, including local drinks like purple corn juice. I can't recommend them enough. They're really professional and know what they're doing.
My friend (Tejota) and i did the 3 day two night tour. It exceeded both our expectations. Junior and Jon are fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a real feel of the amazon with amazing food and good laughs, too.
Great Amazonian experience. From the first moment in the agency until the last, we were in good hands. The guide Rene was super nice and English speaker, handled everything we needed. Lodge is amazing, and food is delicious. Logistics were good, and they did the maximal effort to overcome unexpected events. We were a bit scared to go into the Jungle, but with Amazon Experience it is absolutely fine. We felt in good hands during the whole experience.
We couldn’t have asked for a better Amazon Experience! Everything was smooth and organized starting from the moment we stepped off the plane. We had an incredible experience on the 2D/1N tour. We really can’t recommend this place enough!!
