Urcia Surf School is one of the best surf schools I had until now. John and the other teachers know their work and passion, and so they know how to bring out the best in their students. They are very flexible with time schedules and rental stuff so that you will always have the feeling that they just want the best for you. I took 10 lessons within three weeks and I couldn't believe how fast I developed my skills in that time, thanks to john and the others. They teach you to love surfing, to play with the waves and to understand the work with your body, so that after every second you already can feel huge differences compared to before. You really shouldn't miss a lesson with John once your in Huanchaco. Getting to know him and his surfing loving family (and btw: father's a fisher's man, mother owns a arts craft shop at the beach, and john is currently training his younger brother and another family member for champion cups) is the most authentic thing you can get to know in here. BEST time ever!
I had the best lessons here. The staff is very professional and fun. I had such a great time that I even came back the day after. Miriam and her husband are super helpful and they have the best family to teach you how to surf. A really good place for beginners but also for more experienced surfers.
Urcia surf school is definitely a great option to practice surfing. They have very professional and patient teachers, all equipment are good and staff is chilled. I can totally recommend to all!
Amazing surf school ! Good get up from the first lesson. John is an amazing teacher : patient, smiling, you can have a good laugh with him and will cheer you up. At the begging, John will push the board so you can catch waves and learn and practice getting up. Recommended 100 %
