Greedy owner that will lure you in with her friendliness, but will squeeze every sole out of you with her small selection of questionable boards. First she bragged she accepts credit card, but then will add S/10 per transaction when you're ready to pay. We wanted to rent 3 days with 2 days only being for a few hours, but she insisted we pay for 3 full days. When asked if I could pay when we return in case we only want to surf for 2 days, she said no, we have to pay for the entire rental up front. If we want to pay in USD, she adds 15%. Fine, I'll just pay in soles. But she doesn't have change, so she needs to hold onto all of my money while we go surfing to get change later in the day. She also insisted on holding onto my passport as a deposit, which is overkill for the cheap equipment she rents out. FYI the shop down the street has half day rates, and is cheaper with better selection to begin with. Never trust a surf shop whose owner doesn't actually surf!

We rent two boards and two wet suits the end of Feb in 2019 ,Lourdes charges 50sol for each set and ask for passport as deposit (The old shop beside the beach charges 40 sol for each set but ask no passport as deposit) There is one of the fins was gone and the tail of the board was split at the fin while we surfing without hitting the rock! The other good experience surfers check the condition and said it is impossible to get damage like that if not hit the rock or existing damage before we rent it! We returned the board and wet suit to Lourdes, She didn’t check the board at all until we told her the damage! (If we didn’t tell her and the next renter will be responsible for the damage just like us) We are willing to afford the damage at the responsible price even we have got our our passport back and our board really didn’t hit on the rock but Lourdes charges 70USD repair fee and will charge more 7% if we pay in Credit Card ! It is really our bad experience in Peru! Of course we won’t rent any surfing gear there!

Excelente lugar para venir a surfear y disfrutar de Chicama. Lourdes, la dueña una genia total.
