The full site under excavation but what you could see, is breath taking. I loved our guide who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The walk up to the ruins is a bit steep but less than 5 minutes. Once you are in the tour group, the ruins are covered and the walk is easy and protected from the elements. It's a must do when you are in this area. There is ample parking, clean restrooms, small shop that sell refreshments and memorabilia, and a lovely little museum on site. I will definitely return to see the progress of the excavation and bring the rest of my family.
Impressive place massive proportions. It's a must while in this region. Tour takes about 50 minutes. Tipping the guide and entrance fee is only 10 soles. Did not know you must buy the ticket at the on site museum prior.
The artwork, the history. What a place to have been and seen with my own eyes. I love hearing about Peru's indigenous history.
Very cool ruin. Much better than my visit to Chan Chan. The museum is worth a visit as well. Great window into the Moche life.
For those who plan on visiting Trujillo, this is a great little place to visit for the morning. Discovered in 1998, they have done a nice job to depict stories and preserve the frescoes. There are steps going up to the site and little souvenir trinkets at the base.
If you only see one archeological site in the area, see this one. The colours are incredible, and unlike anything I’ve seen in Peru. The guide was very knowledgeable. We loved our visit.
Impecable maintenance of the grounds with ample parking and clean bathrooms. The guide was knowledgeable and very welcoming. The ruins are still being excavated. However, the majority of what is shown is incredible. Lovely visit. It does involve some walking up hill to get to the ruins (less than 5 minutes). Once You get to the ruins, most of the tour is shaded and well organized. Highly recommended. Also, the small museum on site is a definite must do. Brings the whole thing together.
