Unfortunately the lodge is now somewhat run down, and the management lax (the other 5 guests we met did not seem impressed). Illustrative examples include; - pickup delayed by two hours - Running water was intermittent throughout our stay. - Showers varied in quality between rooms (some had poor flow) - we tried two rooms and at least one other guest made the same comment. - One of the rooms had no air conditioning (the unit was broken). - Hot water was only available for the limited tomes that there was electricity. - The food was served with little choice on food, initially there were no vegetarian options available. - They had no lager on the first two days and no butter on the last day. - The coffee was over brewed and so very bitter. - The mosquito netting in the main building had holes in it which means that one got bitten a lot while inside if not wearing bug spray. In summary the place clearly has potential but these issues really let it down and made it feel like it was badly managed (lovely staff - poor management). The staff did their best but our guide ended up having to double up as a translator and manager which was below ideal. The reserve was beautiful and the day tours were of a good quality. The staff were friendly and did their best.
