I have had plenty of experience living near water, but the Amazon Oasis Lodge was my first experience living ON the water. Located right on the arm of the Amazon, the pure and tranquil Momon river, it offers some amazing natural scenery, and all day observation of birds and butterflies. In the evening, you can hear the frogs. For monkey lovers, there is one living near the hotel, partially-tamed, which might sometimes jump into your canoe if you intentionally come close enough. When a motor boat passes by, you will be sweetly swayed. If you are in a hammock, the slight motion of the whole lodge might even lulluby you to sleep. The food served is all local and there are various vegetarian and vegan options, Jackie and Daniel will practically cook whatever you wish for - if the area offers it. The owners are a family you will quickly become friends with, even more so since there are only four bungalows for the guests so the atmosphere is very private and family-like. The tours offered as well as the other activities (canoe, swimming, meditation) will certainly satisfy the adventurous as well as the more tranquil ones. I am sure to be back to this place someday.

This is the most amazing place on the rivers near Iquitos. Incredible hospitality, peaceful and authentic. Luis and Daniel Hernandez know the area and are very helpful if you wish to see the Amazon area. We, my wife and I, spent the months living on this floating resort. Magical. It's just a short boat ride from Iquitos.

The first time I visited Amazon Oasis Lodge was back in August of 2014. I stayed for a month. At this time, I was looking for a way to "get away from it all", and I was so impressed by the beauty and tranquility of the place, not to mention the hospitality that Daniel and Luis (two of the brothers that built and own Amazon Oasis) showed me, that I returned again in 2015. This time I ended up staying for a year...yes, a year! I stayed from February 2015 to February 2016, spending my time meditating, reading, and swimming in the river, and occasionally taking trips to see some of the surrounding attractions. Over the course of that year I got to know Daniel and Luis much better, as well as the rest of their family, and I can honestly say that they're some of the most honest, genuine people that I've ever met. I can't recommend their lodge highly enough. The location is perfect. It's far enough from the city to feel that you're in the jungle, but it's just 15 minutes from the port of Bellavista Nanay, so if you feel the need to go into town during your stay, it's not a problem. Since my stay there, they have completely rebuilt the entire place. I've been there a few times over the past 6 months, and although it was beautiful before, now it's amazing! If you choose to stay there, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. For me, a guy that's lived his whole life in New York, staying in floating bungalows on the Momon River in the Amazon Jungle has been an unforgettable experience. If I could, I'd rate Amazon Oasis Lodge with 10 stars!

We recently stayed at Amazon Oasis Lodge for 3 nights and it was fantastic, a beautiful, unique setting and you can swim in the river off the side of the lodge! Cesar & Martin were such excellent hosts, and the rooms are brilliant - all the window are wire nets so the bugs stay out but at night you feel like you’re sleeping in the jungle. The food was excellent - they offered us different options; from piche to alligator and mijas breakfast was HUGE. We also did some of the tours, which were great value for money as they included lunch, would recommend the jungle trek - a real adventure! The guys will take you to Iquitos in the taxi boat whenever you like, for free, and arranged our pick up and drop off to the airport each way. Only regret is that we didn’t stay another night!

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences anytime I have traveled the Momon River .My latest adventure was the wedding of my friends Vlad and Christine at a place called Amazon Oasis Lodge just outside of Iquitos Peru.It is a 10 or 15 min bus or moto taxi ride from Plaza de Armas to the port of Bella Vista ,Nanay ,then another 15 or 20 min boat ride up the Momon River to the lodge .At the port we were met by three brothers ,members of the family that own the lodge ,Daniel,Luis and Martin, and were taken up to the lodge by boat where we met the other family members,Martin,s wife , Jackie ,and their young daughter Helen and Cesar ,the fourth brother. We were served refreshing cold coconut juice as soon as we stepped off the boat on to the floating lodge .As the day progressed through more refreshing drinks a lovely wedding ceremony and ritual river baptism for my friends, a delicious dinner , cakes coffee and refreshing swimming off the floats of the lodge ,and just a lot of relaxation ,and all so close to Iquitos but you could not see Iquitos ,you could not hear Iquitos .In fact I lay across the bow of the boat in pitch darkness looking up at the night sky as we were returning on the Momon to Bella vista and I could not even see the glow of Iquitos until we were very close to the port .WE were all hosted wonderfully by the family who lives and works there .Thanks to you all,it was a most memorable day .Gracias
