Lovely little place and delicious food
like
I had a ceviche, it was good, the place has decent food and affordable prices.
Charito is the main cook in El Miscucho. She is Japanese descended. Her father, a native Japanese, was a well know cook in Trujillo. Charito’s specialty Is seafood. She prepares a unique ceviche, a delicious conchas negras, and a rich pescado sudado (a fish stew). Over the years, this small point has grow to be one of the main ceviche bar in Trujillo. The place is small, with nine small tables. Ceviche could not be prepared for large crowds and be a excellent ceviche. It requieres attention to the selection of the ingredients, dedication to follow the correct process, and passion to improve it day in and day out. Every time I visit El Miscucho is a festive experience. It is a return to el barrio, to savor the flavors of my childhood. I highly recommend a visit to El Miscucho to a enjoy a local experience. If you want a five star restaurant this is not the place. It is a local’s point, a warm and personal dedication to your dish, a welcome home.
Food was good, but it took a while to cook and the service was lacking. Kind of crowded.
