This was one of my favorite places that we visited while in Cusco. It's so wonderful to be able to learn about the Andean traditions. The souvenirs we bought here were beautiful, and I love that they have tags that tell you who made them. It's a co-op, so the gifts are a bit more expensive than other places, but I was fine with supporting the local creators and keeping their work alive. I'd definitely recommend stopping in here; we got the impression that not many knew about it.

The center attracts tourist. Its more like a marketplace with high traffic.

If you want to learn about fabric without being pushed to purchase, this place is a gem. It is a museum, a shop and a workshop. You will learn about the importance of textile in the Peruvian culture and see Qechuan people weaving beautiful fabrics.

There is a tiny museum inside the store and no picture is allowed. It shows you the detailed description of the Inca textiles technology and history. It is quite informative if you are interested in the local clothes and accessories. There are three Inca ladies waving in the traditional way inside the store. Every products has a label with the maker’s photo, name and details on it. A small to medium sized cloth bag cost approximately 70 USD.

This is a non-prophet organization that is trying to maintain traditions of textile native to the region. They have a small museum in the back which is, in retrospect, one of the best organized and professional museums in Cusco. They do not charge for the tour but they do request donations. I would encourage anyone to make sure they visit and to leave a small donation in recognition of their efforts.

A must-visit in Cusco. Cooperative dedicated to preserving traditional inca craftsmanship. Prices are significantly higher than elsewhere around Cusco but unlike most other stores these textiles are the real deal.

Beautiful free museum and fantastic shop. Four craftspeople were weaving and knitting while we were there. Prices range from 10 soles to hundreds, so something for every budget. Spend your soles here and buy something that is truly authentic and hand made.

Super cool museum, workshop and store! We originally read about this coop in the book we were reading while traveling through South America called Life and Death in the Andes and it did not disappoint. It was founded to preserve the traditional weaving and textiles of Andean villages and features a short but informative museum plus master weavers working right there in the shop. Everything in the store is gorgeous and fairly pricey but so worth it. A percentage of the profits go back to the master weaver and it's such great quality. Definitely worth the splurge! They also have smaller items like pouches and hats if you don't want to spend too much. Even if you don't want to buy anything, it's definitely worth a visit for the free museum and to watch the master weavers at work! A highlight of Cusco for me!
