Great place to collect a bit of history via pictures and the actual structure. And, if you have children, they will enjoy the courtyard.

This museum goes through TWO stories. Saw lot of people leaving without realising that. First floor had everything from fossils to inka culture, clothing, agriculture, food, jewelery, ceremonial items. Worth seeing. Second floor had Spanish invasion theme. The house used to belong to a man who's father was Spanish and mother inka and who was proud to be inka. This is another entrance in "general ticket"

Nice museum about the history in Cusco. Ita on the "boleto touristico".

The museum offers a cool survey of the region’s history, starting from pre-human days through the Incan civilization, and the Spanish occupation. Unfortunately, much if the text captioning the exhibit items is in bad shape, with letters (and sometimes whole words) missing, which makes the often times poor English translations difficult to follow. Perhaps the most unfortunate bit was that none of the wall-mounted screens in exhibit rooms was actually displaying what they were meant to (see pics). If somebody cares about this place, it doesn’t really show.

Great museum for those who love history and want a detailed view on the major natural and historical events that shaped the region of Cusco and Peru as a whole. There are plenty explanation, maps, archeological objects, ceramics and art work. Save 1-2 hours to see everything with time.

It's a really nice museum, two floors with ancient artifacts on the bottom and colonial paintings and history on the top. There's some really interesting stuff in here, especially the history of Tupac Amaru. This is worth checking out for an hour or so. It's also part of the Boleto Turístico, which you can get to visit other sites as well.

VERY interesting. A must if you are interested in the local history and culture. I especially liked the downstairs part (from dinosaurs to inka). Upstairs is everything from the arrival of the Spaniards.

This Museum and Casa Garcilazo are the same... This museum gives the bibliography of Garcilazo de la Vega, a famous writer who wrote about the Incas, his mother and grandparents...
