Like many airports in Peru, this airport is stretched to it's limits. Lines can stretch out the door, and bottlenecks and inefficiency are everywhere. Poorly lit, chaotic and stressful. Enjoy!

It's an airport. Small and simple. The runway sure seems short flying in on a big jet. The crosswinds from the mountains made for an interesting landing. Full on breaks at touch down! Full throttle and every inch of the runway going out, then nose straight up...or so it seemed. One of the most fun landings and take-offs I've ever experienced!!!

Quick in and out, that's how I like my airports. Clean. Taxis are cheap( 15 soles average) prices are posted. Drivers are honest

This airport must have one of the longest names in the world! However, you can refer to it as Cajamarca Airport (or Aeropuerto Cajamarca) and you will always be understood. The airport is so small that it only has one gate, and one luggage belt. It is visited by only a few planes each day. Our plane pulled up outside the gate, we walked a few metres to the luggage belt, and the luggage came out almost immediately (and there is no forced march through a duty-free shop). I like small airports!
