The Minor Basilica de la Merced is a church, in the old Spanish style, located in Cusco, Peru. It is walking distance from the main square, Plaza de Armas. The original church was built around 1535 but was destroyed by the earthquake of 1650. The current church was built from 1651 and the subsequent tower was erected from 1692. The Basilica de la Merced occupies a focal centrepiece in the city of Cusco. If you're in Cusco, this church is worth a visit. The entrance fee is S/10.

Too much religion. But if you like it, 400 years old art

Great place for people watching I enjoyed the bulletin boards filled with bizarre images.

One of the best things I've seen in Cuzco! Beautiful architecture and paintings. Strongly Recommended

Even though I was quite bummed all religious facilities in the district being super commercial, this one was totally worth the s/.10 ticket. An exquisite, peaceful garden, and a variety of Catholic art collection. Favorite attraction in Cusco.

The architecture and facade were elegant. Since Sunday worship was taking place, I could not go to the altar. However, I could feel big dignities even from the entrance of the church.
