Perumotors is a very special compagny. The owners are very kind and helpfull. The trips the organize are amazing. I made a trip (Transandes) in 2018 with Geert trough Peru and Bolivia. A life changing experience. Not 'a walk through the park' but a real adventure. Altiplana, Deathroad, the Amazon and a lot alsof beautifull citties like La Paz, Nasca, Cusco and places like Machu Picchu. Ofcourse not every thing went 100% we'll, but the tourguide and mecanic always found a solution. That makes that you don't have to worry about anything and just enjoy the trip. And there is al lot to enjoy if you like to know these beautifull countries. I drove a BMW GS800 and enjoyed every mile.

Over the years I have taken many tours with PeruMotors and I have always been very satisfied. The tours go to the best places and use the most scenic roads. The hotels are always good and the daily rides are always manageable. The fun factor and the camaraderie are always great and the value is good!

Not Recommended. Made a 500 deposit at the end of October 2019 for an early Jan 2020 ride for 2 weeks. Somehow there were 2 x 500 deposits sent. Paid the full balance in Peru when I got the bike. Noticed the double deposit on my card as soon as I got back and contacted PM. Lars claimed they never received the extra 500. After about a month of emails and confirmations from the credit card Lars finally agreed they had received the money but would not refund any of the money saying it was too late. Lars eventually agreed to refund some money but it was less than half. Be careful!!
PeruMotors is an outstanding Moto rental. Lars is more than accommodating to all our needs, the La Gruta hotel is a great place to start your tour from.
Overall, I would rent again. Pros: 1) Very responsive to emails 2) Good condition, quality bikes 3) Ability to rent on short notice (corresponded 26 days earlier but confirmed rental 4 days before start date) 4) SOAT taken care of 5) Flexible (see fuel note below) 6) We had a lot of fun Cons: 1) Less organized than I had hoped: a) Hours are not listed online & signage is for hotel, not PeruMotors. I asked what time PeruMotors would open in the morning and the desk staff said 9AM but when I arrived at 9:10 I still needed to wait for Lars to arrive from his house nearby. b) I had requested a small helmet but only one option was available at the rental location so we needed to proceed to Lar’s house nearby to find a better fit. With other delays it took over an hour to complete the rental (only customer) despite being told 30 minutes is typical. c) Top case is listed as an option on the website but Lars said ‘we don’t use those anymore, too many shake off’. Maybe none were available on limited notice, but this is something I had planned on as a backrest for the passenger. d) The bikes are supposed to start with a full tank but mine was found to have half a tank. “No worries, just return it with half a tank or we'll refund half a tank of gas”. I was told the fuel level was enough to reach Aplao but the fuel light turned on well before Aplao while entering an isolated stretch and I needed to turn around for gas. 2) Typically it would seem paying by credit card is more flexible but after the fact (when seeking to return the bike early) it was stated that credit card transactions could not be undone. Lars did work with us amicably to reach a resolution which I appreciate given the fact that we requested a change after agreeing to original rental terms.
